Warcraft turned 30 this year, which is an absolutely gigantic milestone for a single series. Warcraft: Orcs and Humans was first released three decades ago, and the ubiquitous, wildly popular MMO World of Warcraft also turned 20 this year. To celebrate these birthdays, developer Blizzard hosted a 30th anniversary Warcraft Direct that was full of new updates and announcements.

There were many standouts throughout the show, but the one that caused the most buzz came at the very end. A small cutscene showed an adventurer entering a house and walking past various trophies displayed on the walls and pedestals. Then they sit on a chair next to a roaring fire and take a sip from their mug marked “Home Sweet Home.” Yes, it's finally here.

World of Warcraft players have been asking about player housing for years and tend to look at other MMOs like Final Fantasy 14 with envy because players don't really have a place to call their own. Luckily, it looks like that's about to change, as Warcraft Direct (and a later post on the World of Warcraft Twitter account) confirmed that player housing is currently in development and will be released as part of the upcoming Midnight Extension.
