As Twitter user Zach Bussey reports, Twitch has added two categories called “Lego & Brick Building” and “Miniatures & Models” to its browser catalog. As the name suggests, the first is intended for developers, with content focused on building creations using Lego and other similar bricks. In contrast, the “Miniatures” category is all about painting, gluing and even sculpting small figures. Although Twitch's top streamers usually share gaming or IRL live streams, many users prefer this type of content for entertainment. As new as they may be, both categories already have hundreds of followers and many active streamers.

While these categories are new to Twitch, the content they contain is not. The platform has had major Lego streamers for some time, such as BrickinNick, whose channel has almost twenty thousand followers. Hopefully, adding these niche categories to the platform will allow streamers to reach their desired audiences and build their communities faster. It could also help viewers filter out their favorite content faster. Of course, not all of Twitch's updates are so encouraging. In September, Twitch removed the popular BibleThump emote from its platform, particularly disappointing longtime viewers.
