This is how you get the Orb of Chance

Path of Exile 2 Currencies such as the Orb of Chance can be used to increase the rarity of items, add modifiers to an item, add rune slots, or otherwise modify a piece of equipment to produce mostly positive effects. The Orb of Chance is one of two currencies (along with the Vaal Orb) that have a chance of destroying the item it is used on.

When you use an Orb of Chance on a corresponding item, there is a small chance that it will be transformed into a unique item of that equipment type. However, there is a very high chance that the item will be destroyed along with the Orb of Chance instead.

Path of Exile 2 Players can use three methods to obtain Random Shards and Orbs of Chance: disenchanting unique equipment, hoping for a random loot, or exchanging it for one in the Currency Exchange.

Disenchant unique items for random shards

The only reliable way to collect Random Shards to get an Orb of Chance is to disenchant unique items you find while playing Path of Exile 2. For disenchanting a magic item you will receive a Transmutation Shard, and for disenchanting a rare item you will receive a Royal Shard. You need 10x of each of these shards to craft an Orb of Transmutation or a Royal Orb, which can be used to craft magical and rare items.

It's essentially a recycling system, and in that sense, Disenchanting Uniques rewards a Chance Shard. You need 10 Chance Shards to create a single Chance Orb, but unique items can be extremely powerful and are generally worth keeping one of each.

If you collect a duplicate of a unique specimen you already own, there is no reason not to disenchant the specimen with the lower rolled values. If you Really If you want a Orb of Chance and don't mind sacrificing some Uniques for builds you don't normally play, disenchant other Uniques to get more Chance Shards faster.

Kill enemies and loot containers to get shards and bullets

In Path of Exile 2 The chance of Orb of Chance currency items being dropped by any enemy is low, but the chance of being dropped by magic and rare enemies is higher. You can tell whether a mob is magical or rare by its name being blue or yellow.

As you level up in the campaign, Acts 1-3 on normal difficulty have a very low chance of dropping orbs, enemies on Cruel difficulty drop them slightly more often, and enemies in the endgame and on Atlas maps have them highest chance.

In all three of these progression levels, you can also find random shards as drops from enemies and containers. In fact, containers seem to have a slightly higher chance of spawning rare currency than regular enemies. Make sure to stop and open every chest and non-highlighted container (like urns or bottles) for more chances at random orbs.

The chance of random shards falling from the same sources as orbs of chance is significantly higher, but you need 10 random shards to craft a single orb of chance.

Most players will find their first Orb of Chance drop in the Cruel campaign, although some have already found this coveted item in previous acts. The best way to farm Orb of Chance Path of Exile 2 consists of accepting acts and endgame maps on Cruel difficulty and simply killing enemies and looting containers.

However, if you have numerous other currencies, you may have better luck simply exchanging for one currency on the currency exchange.

Use the Currency Exchange to exchange Orb of Chance

Currency exchange is a feature in Path of Exile 2 This allows players to request certain currency items in exchange for others. The gambling dealer in each camp/city should have this option available once you reach Cruel difficulty. Speak to Finn at the Clearfell Camp to access this system immediately after unlocking it.

Click on the top left box and select Orb of Chance from the currency table. Then click on the box at the top right to view the list of your current currencies. Click on each item to see the number of each item you need to purchase an Orb of Chance.

These numbers can fluctuate. For example, one day it will only be worth 11 or 12 Exalted Orbs. But the next day it could rise to 20. At the time of publication, an Orb of Chance could be purchased for this approximate number of other popular currencies.

If you have enough of another currency to purchase an Orb of Chance, simply confirm your selection and an Orb of Chance will appear in your inventory in exchange for the required number of other currencies.
