This episode also gives a detailed introduction to the Mist and Love Hashira, who accompany Tanjiro on his travels along with Genya. Both characters are hilarious in their own right, adding to the weirdness of the only light-hearted episode in the Swordsmith Village arc before the conflict escalates into much more serious territory.

The two characters who accompany Tanjiro on his travels are also two of the funniest demon slayers in the series. Without any context, it's hard not to find Inosuke's introduction strange, especially since he arrives wearing a boar's head.
To make things even stranger, Tanjiro accidentally unmasks Inosuke, revealing a handsome face that is completely different from the personality of the man trying to kill his sister. It's a memorable way to introduce Inosuke before raising the stakes again.

Seeing Inosuke stretching himself far beyond what was necessary and Zenitsu trying to escape his training every time is pretty unconventional. However, it adds to the charm of Demon Slayer and makes it clear why fans love this series, even in moments where action and sword fighting are not the focus.
