The Soul King is the god of bleaching World. He is a mysterious creature without limbs or organs, trapped in a crystal in the royal palace. His existence serves as a fulcrum, holding the three kingdoms together in harmony. But at the same time it is nothing but a painful and torturous life. Through Original Sin, the Soul King was mutilated and sealed to change that bleaching world into what it is now. And it is said that his torn limbs and organs fell into the world. And both of his arms gained sentience and a will of their own. These are Mimihagi and Pernida.

Mimihagi is the deity of the eastern Rukongai district. While Pernida serves as one of Yhwach's royal guard. Both entities represent opposing concepts and embody them through their actions and powers. Here's what you need to know about the Soul King's weapons in Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War.

Mimihagi, the right arm of the Soul King

Embodied silence

Mimihagi is the right arm of the Soul King, who fell victim to the Soul Society. Over time, it became a less fallen god to the people of Rukongai. It lived in a shrine deep in the mountains of eastern Rukongai. It was said to bring miracles to the people who lived nearby. When Juushiro Ukitake was three years old, he was about to die from a chronic lung disease he was born with, and his parents prayed to Mimihagi to save him. Mimihagi was touched by the boy's kindness and good heart and agreed to save his life. It merged with Ukitake and took his internal organs in exchange for keeping him alive and nursing his illness. This allowed Ukitake to live a very long life and become a Soul Reaper.

“Mr. Mimihagi, Mr. Mimihagi. Pray, release the power of your August eye. Pray, give up the power of your August eye, which you have buried in my bowels.”

Mimihagi controls and embodies the concept of silence. It follows this idea by keeping Ukitake's chronic condition calm and at a standstill. By keeping the captain alive for hundreds of years, it embodies the idea of silence. However, Mimihagi is benevolent by nature, as she agrees to save a normal boy's life simply because she deems him worthy of saving due to his innate kindness. Mimihagi has no real affiliation with Soul Society or Ukitake, but merely acts as a benevolent god for the poor people of Rukongai.

  • Mimihagi is the right arm of the Soul King.
  • It controls the silence and keeps Ukitake's illness at a standstill.
  • To the Rukongai people, it acted like a god

After Yhwach killed the Soul King, Ukitake performed the Kamikake ritual and sacrificed his life to make Mimihagi take the Soul King's place and keep the three realms together. In this way, too, the right arm embodies silence, just like the Soul King before it. At least for a moment, it holds the world in place.

Pernida Parnkgjas, The Left Arm of the Soul King

Progress embodies

Pernida Parnkgjas is the left arm of the Soul King, which Ichibe Hyosube retained. The left arm was kept by Squad 0 for many years until Yhwach stole it and brought it to his side during a meeting with the Quincy King Ichibe Hyosube. The left arm became the Quincy, known as Pernida Parnkgjas. Unlike most Quincy, Pernida was not given scripture by Yhwach, but already possessed the ability later called “The Compulsory”. Pernida has the ability to shoot his nerves into either his enemies or inanimate objects, controlling their movements at will.

Left arm…not name…Pernida…Parnkgjas…

Pernida lived as a small hooded figure for many years until a battle with Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi occurred. His true form is revealed. That of a giant left arm with chains binding its fingers and an eye in its palm. It contains two irises that resemble the Eyes of the Almighty possessed by the Soul King and Yhwach. Pernida represents and embodies progress in contrast to his counterpart Mimihagi. It embodies this by rapidly evolving and learning during its fight with Mayuri. It begins the fight as a sort of toddler, quickly learns to speak, and grows larger and stronger as the fight progresses.

  • Pernida Parnkgjas is the left arm of the Soul King.
  • It has the ability “The Compulsory”.
  • It is a member of the Quincy Schutzstaffel, Yhwach's elite soldiers.
  • It controls the progression, development and growth during his fight with Mayuri.

Pernida is part of the Quincy King's Royal Guard. This makes him one of the strongest and most overwhelming Quincy warriors. Like its companions, it has extraordinary abilities that far exceed those of the normal Quincy Sternritter. Pernida's The Compulsory was able to easily defeat the powerful Captain Kenpachi Zaraki. Maybe any other Soul Reaper besides Mayuri Kurotsuchi would have fallen on their left arm.
