The popular Castlevania collection is getting a new update

The popular Castlevania Dominus Collection has received a new update patch for December, which brings a variety of content and various bug fixes. The popular collection that consists of a variety of games from the Castlevania The franchise's storied history now offers an all-new mode for one of its games and new ways for players to view the screens of the titles they're playing.

Released by original developer Konami in August 2024 Castlevania Dominus Collection consists mainly of Castlevania Titles released on the Nintendo DS. This includes Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, And Castlevania: Order of Ecclesiawhich are considered some of the best Castlevania Games in the series. The Castlevania Dominus Collection also includes the 1988 arcade game haunted castle along with a new version called Haunted castle reinterpretedThe latter is the recipient of probably the largest part of the content update.

Given Castlevania Dominus Collectiondespite its blatant popularity Castlevania Konami has now published the title omission Castlevania Dominus Collection ver. 1.0.3, which adds a brand new Boss Rush mode Haunted castle revisited. However, the new mode comes with a small caveat as players must first beat the game to unlock the new mode. The update patch also adds new display layouts, allowing players to change the position of different screens given the dual-screen nature of DS titles. While several bugs have been fixed, the exact causes remain a mystery.

Castlevania Dominus CollectionThe October update added new graphics for Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia along with a bug fix for Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Interestingly, the previous patch again introduced a small bug Castlevania: Portrait of the Ruins which experienced players use as an exploit, with the update humorously calling it a feature.

Although it's been a decade since Konami released an original Castlevania Title in the form of 2014 Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, The IP has spread further through crossover content. The most recent example occurred relatively recently Vampire survivors' Ode to Castlevania DLC, which adds over 20 characters from the Castlevania Franchises, including those in Castlevania Dominus Collection. This leads to a full circle moment Vampire survivors by adding content and characters from the IP the game is heavily inspired by. With CastlevaniaDespite its seemingly undying popularity, fans are still hoping for an all-new original title someday.

The Castlevania series was originally developed by Konami and began with the release of Castlevania in 1986 on the NES. It's a long-running series that was even adapted into an animated series for Netflix. A series of stories follow the legendary Belmont family as they fight back against Dracula and his horde of bloodthirsty minions.
