The following fight scenes are some of the most visually impressive in the Naruto franchise.
Masashi Kishimoto, the author of Narutoproved time and time again that he was a master at building a mysterious character before delivering a satisfying conclusion that allows viewers to see them in a different light. However, this was certainly not the case for everyone, and some still have many unanswered questions to this day.
8 Teuchi
Little is known about one of Naruto's closest companions
- First appearance: Episode 2
Fans may remember Teuchi as the ramen guy who provides Naruto with his favorite food whenever he visits. Although he appears to be one of Naruto's closest companions and practically the only person who didn't scold him as a child for his possession of Kurama, little is known about Teuchi.
It's clear that he decided to become a chef long before Naruto was born, but why he was so adamant about becoming a ramen chef specifically remains unclear. What's even more bizarre is that at a time when the entire village was adamant about hating Naruto, Teuchi was the only one to take him in, implying that he may not have known about the Nine-Tails at all. Anyway, even if a little information has been lost here and there, large parts of Teuchi's life and worldview are still mysteries that fans have been pondering for many years.
7 Dan Kato
Dan's absurdly powerful mind transformation technique raises many questions

Dan Kato was a former lover of Tsunade who had the same dream as Naruto; to one day become the Hokage so he can protect his village from harm. There are many rather unusual jutsu that appear in Narutobut this one has always confused fans, as the way it works essentially allows Dan to one-shot anyone he can possess, presumably even the Kage. None of Dan's other abilities were revealed before his ultimate demise in the war, but the question that remains to this day is how strong Dan really was? And was he more than strong enough to become Hokage?
6 A (First Raikage)
The first Raikage doesn't get nearly as much screen time as other Kage
- First appearance: Shippuden episode 369
Many of the previous Kage have their shining moments in the final arc of the series, but much information was never given about A, the first Raikage, other than a simple flashback. As fans get to see A for a brief moment, he discusses things with the other Kage, where he can be seen passing land to the Yotsuki clan while also making fun of Hashirama for keeping his head down and claims that this is not a sign of a “permanent leader”.
Apparently he was a tough diplomat who could easily stand up to the other Kage, but this is the only glimpse fans get of this fascinating individual whose path to becoming the first of his kind remains unclear. There is also no mention of how A came to found the country of Kumo, or his skills that made him an extremely formidable shinobi.
5 Kushimaru Kuriarare
Why is Kushimaru still wearing an Anbu mask? And why did he murder his own sensei?
- First appearance: Shippuden episode 265
Kushimaru was a member of the Seven Mist Swordsman, that much is clear, although the rest of his background is unclear, including why he decided to kill his own sensei. Although this particular act of cruelty is mentioned in the anime, it begs the question of what caused Kushimaru to become so violent. Another intriguing point is why he appears to be wearing an Anbu mask, which belongs to the Village of Mist.
This simple piece of decoration suggests that Kushimaru was once a member of the Anbu, but chose to continue wearing the mask even after he became a swordsman, perhaps to mock his former group. However, again, Kishimoto never goes into detail about Kushimaru's backstory, making him one of the most mysterious of the seven swordsmen in the hidden mist.
4 Kisame Hoshigaki
Kisame's shark-like appearance has always confused fans
- First appearance: Episode 81
Kisame's backstory as part of the Seven Mist Swordsmen is well known Naruto fans, but one thing that is still quite a mystery is why the dangerous Akatsuki member possesses a shark-like appearance. No exact reason is ever given in the series, although there are many theories. One that some fans have held on to ever since Boruto In the aired series, it is suggested that the cause is Kisame's sword Samehada, which may have had an influence on Kisame's appearance, just as it did with Shizuma Borutowho is also a member of the Hoshigaki clan.

Some fans suspected that Jashin was a figment of Hidan's imagination and that he used a kekkei genkai technique that simply transformed his body into a living voodoo doll.
