While The Mandalorian's In the last season, the most interesting antagonist of the series apparently died. The man behind the iconic role has given fans new hope that they haven't seen the last of the ruthless Moff.

The Mandalorian is lucky not to be one of them star Wars The franchise's more controversial projects are the beginning of the Disney+ era with more or less universal acclaim. While the series benefits greatly from its two main leads, Din Djarin and Grogu, who appeal to such a wide and diverse range of fans and mesh well with each other, the villainous Moff Gideon, a former Imperial official, was another major selling point for the series' evil dealings for Grogu. While many fans believed this was the end of the character, reports of Gideon's death appear to have been greatly exaggerated, according to Esposito. The Direct reports that the man himself appeared to hint at a possible return while answering questions on a panel at the recent LA ComicCon event. When asked by a fan whether or not he would return for another season The Mandalorian, Esposito revealed that he was more than willing to reprise the role while also confirming the rumors to that effect The Mandalorian and Grogu The film could mean the end of the show as there is no fourth season in sight. “Well, I would like to do that. I don't know much about what's going on. I know they're making a movie. I don't know if they will return to the show or not, but everything is open.” . And I certainly left Moff Gideon with the best opening ever. I love it when you see a character pushing the boundaries, but you don't know exactly what's happening.

Esposito took a well-received joke one step further and cleared up any confusion about what he meant by Moff Gideon returning. “I remember in our last season when I came to set I had a different haircut because I thought I was going to be in prison for a while and didn't have a moustache. And before I started filming, Jon Favreau came down, he kind of looked at me, and he left, scratching his head? And I left, no mustache,” Esposito revealed. “And it remains to be seen that Moff Gideon is still hiding somewhere, waiting to come back and take over. I can almost guarantee that. Given the countless ways to cheat death in the Star Wars universe, there's little doubt that Esposito is right. If this were to happen, it would not be the first time that Moff Gideon had risen from the ashes star Wars show, although this second time would be more impressive than his escape from the Republic's new captivity.

Esposito is just as much a fan favorite as Moff Gideon and her return to the star Wars Franchise would certainly be appropriate if the upcoming film is truly the end of the story Mandalorian Action. There is very little information about what the film will actually entail, so fans will have to wait patiently for more news. In the meantime, everyone can look forward to seeing Esposito in his long-awaited role Captain America: Brave New World when the MCU project is released early next year.

The Mandalorian is available to stream on Disney+, with The Mandalorian and Grogu The film is currently expected to hit theaters in May 2026.
