Summary
-
Project Century is the latest game from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios.
-
It was revealed with a short trailer at the Game Awards earlier this week.
-
Casting hasn't been confirmed, but RGG fans believe the lead will either be played by or inspired by one of Kiryu's live-action actors.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, the team behind the Like a Dragon series, revealed another title at the Game Awards this week. As we saw in the trailer, Project Century is set in 1915 Japan and features a new main character.
Now, fans eager for more details may have found out who plays this new lead role. As discovered after the reveal, our mysterious protagonist bears a striking resemblance to actor Kazuki Kitamura, who played Kazuma Kiryu in the 2007 film Like a Dragon.
The main character of Project Century looks a lot like Kazuki Kitamura
Kitamura previously played Kiryu in the 2007 live-action film
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it's easy to see why fans would come to this conclusion. Even though he doesn't play the character, it seems that he served as a facial model or even just inspiration for the new character design.
For now, though, we'll just have to wait for more details on Project Century. The reveal trailer didn't do much for us other than confirm the setting and give us a brief look at the more action-oriented combat.
However, if there's one thing we can trust RGG to do, it's to release an incredible number of games at a shockingly fast pace. There's no release date or window for Project Century yet, but we may not have to wait too long for an update.
