The storytelling in Final Fantasy 14 offers the quality of a single player game at times. That can do FFXIV seem quite serious, but there are moments where the game really shows off its comedic qualities, particularly during side quests.
MMO side quests are notorious for being littered with glorified combat scenarios and fetch quests, so it's nice to see that Final Fantasy 14 masks this inferior design with moments of hilarity. This attempt to make the player's journey at times light-hearted works wonders and does a great job of encouraging players to try out the extra atmosphere that is added to a massive world that is regularly expanding.

It was a big task Final Fantasy 7 Remake to expand the game's actual starting area into a full-length title. In some aspects it succeeded, in others it failed, but what fans remember most from this title is its tendency to lean into the crazy and fun side of things to great effect.
With the addition of cutting-edge graphics and voice acting, the first game's comedy is better than ever, while a lot of the new content is pretty silly too. This makes for an enchanting experience that helps fans deal with the dreary setting of Midgar.
