The Tysis is a semi-automatic pistol that fires explosive arrows that penetrate targets and, after a short delay, explode in a caustic DoT. While this weapon has pitiful base damage for a secondary weapon, it has an absurdly high status chance of 50% of base damage. Projectile detonations deal 27 Corrosion damage per second for three seconds and inherit the 50% status chance of the base shot, resulting in numerous status ailments with a good build.

Essentially the Tysis is a status prime. It's not a powerful weapon and it doesn't have strong crits, but you can significantly improve the performance of this weapon with Galvanized mods once you reach the endgame, especially with Galvanized Shot.

Tysis build

Warframe Tysis Preview

Until the 1999 CODA variant with Infested Liches is released, we will focus this guide on a standard status primer build for the base Tysis. If you're not a Zakti fan and want a solid single-target primer, this build should perform well. We will update this guide once the CODA variant is available.

Status Primer Build

Warframe Tysis Status Primer Build

While this build doesn't use Forma, the Tysis is surprisingly powerful once you get access to Galvanized mods. Until then, standard mod variants will work fine, although you will have difficulty deleting the contents of Steel Path.

Galvanized shot is undoubtedly the strongest mod in this build, scaling your base damage based on the target's status ailments. We then use three elemental mods – the choice is yours, but make sure they are elemental/status hybrid mods Frostbite And Scorch– to give this weapon a wide range of damage types. Throw a multishot with you Galvanized diffusion And Deadly stream, and now the Tysis can inflict dozens of status ailments in a matter of seconds.

As for the elemental types, we recommend Viral + Heat for most content. Caustic already shreds the opponent's armor, so Viral's HP damage scaling makes for a deadly combination. Blast is also fantastic here because you cause so many status ailments. Choose the elements that best exploit your enemy faction's vulnerabilities.
