How to unlock the Kastov LSW
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 added two new weapons in Season 6, an LMG and a Battle Rifle. The first weapon, the Kastov LSW, is arguably the most powerful LMG in the game for aggressive playstyles. It has the best tactical stance accuracy of any LMG, making this weapon a CQC monster with the right attachments.
Thanks to some unique attachment options, you can turn the Kastov LSW into the ultimate run-and-gun weapon for multiplayer and Warzone. Let's look at how to unlock this weapon and show some of the LSW's best attachment combinations that improve this weapon's tactical stance accuracy and mobility.
Updated on September 24, 2024 by Charles Burgar: The Kastov LSW's notable underbarrel grip, the Bracefire-HC Grip, was massively nerfed in Season 6. You can no longer use Tac Stance with this underbarrel grip equipped, fundamentally changing how you build the Kastov LSW. We've updated this guide with a more accurate build that compensates for the recent changes.
How to unlock the Kastov LSW
The Kastov LSW can be unlocked by the Season 6 Battle Pass. You can find this weapon in Sector 09, which is approximately 20 Battle Pass Tokens from the starting point. Battle Pass Tokens are unlocked by earning XP in MW3, which can come from any main playlist (MP, Warzone, and MWZ).

The unique underflow attachment of the Kastov LSW, the Bracefire-HC handle, allows you to build absurdly high strafing speeds at the expense of ADS accuracy. With this attachment you cannot build for Tac Stanceso you have to specialize heavily in close combat shooting. We do this through the Bombast T54 Short Barrel And Broadside stockwhich significantly improves the weapon's handling statistics.
Since we can't change the accuracy directly, we'll use our remaining attachments to reduce the weapon's recoil. The Quartermaster suppressor and Weave L7 grip will mitigate your recoil enough to make close-quarter engagements relatively reliable.

With such a high ADS penalty speed, it is a good idea to Stalker Boots on this build. With these boots you will strafe much faster. We combine this with the Compression straps Vest to get a free tactical mask and compression plate, two S-tier perks for aggressive playstyles. Put them on Spirit to stay away from enemy radar and Commando Gloves to reduce the long delay between sprinting and firing the weapon.
