The best characters for a Shatter team in Genshin Impact

Among the many reactions that Genshin Impact players can use to defeat their enemies, “Shatter” has long been the least popular. This is because it defeats the purpose of Freeze, a reaction aimed at locking enemies in place.

Still, with units like Freminet coming to market and Shatter having the same scaling as Hyperbloom, some characters can work well with a Shatter team. From Energy Batterying to buffing to dealing damage, here are the best Shatter characters in Genshin Impact.

Rosaria

Rosaria belongs to the church of Mondstadt. But despite her role, she doesn't seem to be much of a believer and often forgets the name of Barbatos, the deity worshiped throughout Mondstadt. Her gameplay revolves around dealing large amounts of off-field Cryo damage with her Elemental Burst and attacking Cryo teammates with her Elemental ability.

Both of these already make her extremely suitable for Shatter teams, using Cryo and strengthening your team. However, Rosaria takes it a step further by granting teammates a CRIT rate buff after casting her burst, as well as a physical DMG bonus once she reaches her final constellation.

Shenhe

Shenhe is one of the first niche buffers released in Genshin Impact. She primarily buffs Cryo and is one of the top supports for Freeze teams that include Ayaka, Ganyu or Wriothesley. While the Cryo DMG bonus portion of her kit is certainly the main selling point, Shenhe can also significantly increase the damage of your team's physical attacks.

This makes Shenhe an extremely good choice for any Shatter team, as it increases both the Physical and Cryo damage of your party members. Additionally, Shenhe's passive adds another buff on top of everything else, increasing the damage of your active character's normal attacks by a significant amount.

Beidou

Beidou is an excellent off-field DPS that deals AOE damage, shielding, and slight disruption in the form of balance whenever her burst hits an enemy. She's great on any team and competitive with Fischl, but her AOE gives her an advantage over teams with Fischl when facing large numbers of enemies.

Stance is a type of damage in Genshin Impact that staggers enemies to stun or knock them away. This doesn't apply to bosses or larger enemies, but can work on Ruin Guards.

Charging Beidou can become a problem unless you have units on your team that provide a lot of energy or have Favonius users. However, if you manage to turn off her burst's cooldown, any of her burst triggers can trigger both Shatter and Superconduct.

Mika

Released as support for the revival of the physical archetype, Mika is intended to be a necessity for any team focused on physical DMG to function. His Elemental Burst increases the active character's attack speed, resulting in more attacks and therefore more damage and Shatter triggers, and his passive abilities grant Detector stats that boost physical damage.

However, Mika has some obvious weaknesses, including his problems recharging energy and lack of synergy with some physical wielders, including Eula. Whether you want Mika or not also depends on how many of his constellations you have access to, as they increase his utility many times over.

If you're one of those people lucky enough to have his C6, Mika suddenly becomes a must-have in any team where the main source of damage is physical.

Yelan

Yelan is an off-field hydro character who competes for the highest off-field damage in the game. While her damage is great and the DMG buff she gives the active character is helpful, her Hydro application loses out to Xingqiu, reducing her usefulness in solo Hydro teams. Luckily for Yelan, she uses just enough Hydro to work alone on a Shatter team.

It doesn't contribute much to the shatter response; Yelan is simply an extremely good Hydro unit that can slot into a Shatter team and deal a significant portion of the team's damage while also activating the Freeze prerequisite for Shatter.

Furina

On any team that wants a Hydro unit, Furina would always be one of the best options. This is especially true for teams that don't need a lot of Hydro application, like in the case of the Hu Tao teams. She deals a lot of personal damage and has one of the biggest damage buffs in the game, making her someone who can benefit any account.

While this buff doesn't increase the damage of Smite itself, it does increase your entire team's DPS. As long as you have a good enough healer to fill Furina's fanfare stack, such as Mika, you'll find that teams that include Furina are the best shatter teams in Genshin.

razor

Maybe Razor isn't the best physical DPS. However, if there's anything we from the Thundering Furry team have learned about this adorable wolf, it's that he shouldn't be underestimated. In fact, Razor's equipment allows him to take full advantage of the Shatter reaction in a variety of ways.

While you can make him a damage dealer by stacking CRIT on him, another, more fun way to use this reaction is to give Razor full elemental mastery, like on a Burgeon team. However, instead of taking Bennett, team him up with Nahida, Rosaria and Xingqiu.

With Shatter scaling off EM, each of Razor's attacks can now trigger both Hyperbloom and Shatter, dealing an average of 70,000 damage per hit.

This team is not optimal and you will encounter a lot of problems when controlling it, but it can make Razor deal more than 30,000 physical damage with each smash, making him the physical DPS that has the highest stats with the most consistency reached.

Eula

Eula is Genshin's only five-star character designed specifically for the physical archetype. While her normal attacks hurt quite a bit, the centerpiece of her equipment is the Lightfall Sword she summons during her Elemental Burst, a massive atomic bomb that deals damage based on how many times Eula hits enemies before it goes off.

Eula's kit was designed to get the most out of this Lightfall sword. Her elemental ability gives her Grimheart stacks, making her harder to interrupt, and both her normal attacks and her elemental ability have the ability to hit multiple times, giving her more stacks. Even without any specific synergies with Shatter herself, Eula's movement stats are so absurdly high that her role as a Cryo character alone makes her fit in perfectly.

Freminet

As one of Genshin Impact's only physical carriers, Freminet competes with Eula and Razor for the top spot. Luckily for him, unlike pure physics or superconductivity teams, Freminet has an advantage over the other two. This comes in the form of his passive, which increases his damage by a significant amount when he triggers Shatter.

This, coupled with his already flexible loadout, makes Freminet about as good as Eula in his Shatter teams once he reaches C6. He has more synergies with the archetype than any other character, and despite his otherwise lacking movement stats, the benefits he gains from using Smash make him a truly fearsome physical DPS.
