Corinne Busche, game director of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, has revealed that the hottest romance in the game is with Taash, the Qunari dragon slayer.
In an interview with IGN, Busche talked about how the game's love stories are intertwined with the rest of The Veilguard and how they develop over the course of the narrative.
When asked which romance she thought was the “hottest,” she answered Taash. “I would say Taash. When I got to that scene and saw the finished version of the film, I screamed. Screamed,” Busche replied.
Any party member in The Veilguard can become romantic, regardless of gender, race, and class. Busche has stressed that the characters are not “playersexual,” but rather pansexual, as they can become romantic with each other even if the player chooses not to pursue them. This is different from other Dragon Age games, with the exception of Dragon Age 2, where each character had a distinct sexuality.
The Dragon Hunter
Taash is a member of the Lords of Fortune, a guild of treasure hunters and dungeon masters. Taash was born in Rivain, possibly in the peaceful Qunari settlement of Kont-aar in the north of the kingdom, but this is unconfirmed. Taash is also the youngest companion in The Veilguard, and is roughly the same age as Sera, who was in her early twenties during the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Busche also talked about how deepening bonds with your companions allows you to improve their abilities, and how kind you are to someone is indicated by their title. Neve Gallus starts out as a “Minrathous contact,” but as your bond with her deepens, she gets a new nickname.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released on October 31st for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
