Recall that earlier this year a modder made the ambitious claim that they had Morrowind, Oblivion, And Skyrim in Starfield, only to cancel it three days later? Fun times. Anyway, someone is recreating Oblivion in Starfield! Kind of.

The Elder Scrolls 6 has to be completely different after Starfield
The Bethesda formula is long outdated, and Shattered Space proves that The Elder Scrolls 6 needs to shake things up.
At least on Reddit, this is more than just a vague promise. They've recreated part of the starting dungeon, which you can now download and see in the game itself. Using Blender and PAINT.net, they recreated the original textures within 22 hours and built the iconic cell “stone by stone”. It even comes with the prisoner's clothing.
22 hours for a fraction of a level illustrates how monumental the task of recreating the entire game would be. Heck, an entire team has been working on remaking Oblivion in Skyrim for over a decade and it's still not finished! So I doubt we'll see the whole thing in Starfield anytime soon, but they're planning on finishing the first dungeon before Skyblivion and maybe even the first area you see when you step out of the sewers.
Some other fun Oblivion mods you can download
If you're itching to make Starfield feel even more like Oblivion than cramming the starting cell into the game, there are a few good options out there. You can rework certain sound effects or replace the UC Police with the Imperial Guards; Stop it now, Starborn scum! Otherwise, you can swap the Starfield main menu for Oblivion's.
The modding community isn't quite as vibrant as Skyrim's, so there are far fewer options, but it will be interesting to see where this more ambitious Oblivion in Starfield mod goes. Honestly, I'd be happy to see Kvatch on the moon.

Starfield is Bethesda's first new IP in a quarter century, released for the next-generation Xbox Series X|S and PC. Set outside of our own solar system, you play a member of the Constellation, a group of explorers looking to discover new worlds.
