Saudi crown prince receives speaker of Arab Parliament in Jeddah

RIYADH: Human Resources Development Fund Director General Turki bin Abdullah Al-Jawini said the fund helped more than 153,000 Saudi men and women find employment in the private sector in the first half of 2024.

Al-Jawini said the fund disbursed 3.79 billion Saudi riyals ($1 billion) to private institutions for training, employment and empowerment programs during the period, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

He added that 1.4 million Saudi men and women and around 100,000 companies operating in vital sectors of the Kingdom benefited from the program.

Al-Jawini stressed the Fund's commitment to keeping pace with the Kingdom's development in all areas, responding to the needs of the corporate sector and meeting the demand for skilled local labor.

The fund, he said, aims to improve the skills of Saudis, increase their participation in the labor market and encourage the private sector to contribute to localization. It is also working to promote partnerships with entities that deal with the training, employment and empowerment of the national workforce, increasing their competitiveness and continuity in the labor market.

Al-Jawini said the Fund's programs and services have helped increase benefits for individuals and businesses, stressing the Fund's continuous efforts to keep pace with changes and demands in the labor market.

He said the fund is also working to develop training, empowerment and advisory programs for local personnel, contributing to the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030's human capacity development and labor market strategy goals.
