Pokémon GO has announced its plans for Community Day in December, the last edition of the event in 2024. Community Day is a recurring event on Pokémon GO Calendar known for featuring a pocket monster and offering players other perks. At the end of the year, the augmented reality game takes a trip into the past with a special Community Day in December.
Niantic opened 2024 with Rowlet, Chansey and Litten as Community Day Pokémon for January, February and March. For Grass fans, there were Bellsprout and Bounsweet in April and May, with Goomy, Tynamo and Popplio in the June, July and August editions of the event. September's Community Day was special as it featured Ponyta and its regional variant, followed by Sewaddle and Mankey appearing at the October and November events.

Now, Pokémon GO has announced plans for December Community Day, which will take place December 21-22 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. A selection of Pokémon will be available each day, with Rowlet and five other pocket monsters appearing on December 21st. Meanwhile, Ponyta, Galarian Ponyta, and four other creatures will appear on December 22nd. During the last 10 minutes of every hour, Niantic increases the spawns of Porygon, Cyndaquil, Bagon, and Beldum. As with others Pokémon GO During events, players can look forward to bonuses such as double XP and candies when catching Pokémon, as well as lure modules with extended durations.
- When: Saturday, December 21st and Sunday, December 22nd, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
- New Timed Research, continued Community Day Timed Research, Field Research, Stickers, and PokeStop Showcases will be available.
Event bonuses
- 2× XP for catching Pokémon.
- 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- 1/2 hatch distance if eggs are laid in incubators during the event period.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2x chance for trainers level 31 and above to obtain Candy XL by catching Pokémon.
- Lock modules activated during the event last for three hours.
- Incense activated during the event (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) lasts for three hours.
- One additional special trade can be made, up to a maximum of two per day.*
- Trades made during the event require 50% less stardust.*

By hatching 2 km long eggs Pokémon GO During the event, players will have the opportunity to receive monsters from a reward pool that includes Slowpoke, Togepi, and Wooper. Players who level up the Pokémon featured on Community Day will receive an evolution with a specific Quick or Charged Attack. Timed Research and Continued Timed Research will be available, with the latter rewarding Pokémon encounters with a special background. The event will also include new field research, showcases, and stickers for Community Days 2024, which players can obtain by spinning PokeStops, opening gifts, or purchasing from the in-game shop.
With the revelation of Pokémon GO December Community Day Plans, players await details on the Holiday Part 2, New Year 2025, and Charged Embers Hatch Day events.
