The bug was confirmed an hour after the update was released when Blizzard disabled Battlegrounds on the Anniversary Realms Wow Community manager Kaivax explained in a forum post that the issue should be resolved quickly.

This flaw is particularly notable because of the power differences between the Season of Discovery and Classic Fresh characters. Needless to say, this power gap led to some hilarious stories in the hour these two servers met. Fans reported seeing overpowered Season of Discovery characters one-shot entire groups of Classic Fresh enemies while wielding items that didn't even exist in the original game, such as the Void-Touched weapons that the mysterious Shadowy Figure mentioned in the experiment World of Warcraft areas. Ideally, Blizzard can quickly and effectively reverse the damage caused by this issue, allowing players to fondly remember it as a fun bug rather than a game-breaking bug.
