Reconsider the one-portal death policy to make Path of Exile 2 less punishing.
Path of Exile 2 It was released in early access just over a month ago and was already in great shape. Then, this week, GGG was released Path of Exile 2The first major patch for 2025, fixing a variety of issues and bugs and implementing or responding to player feedback in some key areas. For example, players can now overwrite runes and other pluggable items such as cores in their items with another pluggable item, which was previously a major problem with the rune system. While the game is running great and can only grow from here, it can benefit from three changes to its current endgame version.
From the looks of things, there's still a lot for players to do after completing the campaign and files on Cruel difficulty. Path of Exile 2 takes players to the Ziggurat Refuge, which acts as a base of operations for players to slowly work their way through higher levels of Waystones, starting with level 1. The Atlas provides players with a variety of map nodes to choose from, with multiple symbols to represent them various league mechanics or other modifiers, such as bosses. All of this can be quite exciting at first, but there are changes GGG can implement to improve the overall experience: a Waystone hideout tab, better visibility of the map/biome on the atlas, and a less frustrating approach to death.

Path of Exile 2 would be a completely different game with a PoE feature
There are many differences between Path of Exile 2 and PoE 1, and an item from the latter would greatly change the former.
Path of Exile 2 requires a waystone hiding tab
Path of Exile 2In the endgame, players must constantly move through waystones, as they are needed to advance through the Atlas and its fog of war and complete objectives such as obtaining Atlas passive abilities or important parts of them, such as the Burning Monolith and the three citadels. Therefore, a great addition to the game would be a dedicated Waystone Stash tab where players can easily store and access all of their Waystones, filter by keywords, and group them by level.
Stash slots are typically paid content in Path of Exile 2 (and its predecessor), but a Waystone stash slot would be such a quality of life addition that it would probably be fine even if it wasn't free.
How Path of Exile 2 could improve its map experience
While the current version is 0.1.1 Path of Exile 2 The patch added new features to the atlas, where each map node specifies its biome. This could be taken to the next level. For example, a short video could be attached to each map node, showing both a sample layout of the area and its minimap. This would change the game as some of the league's mechanics e.g Path of Exile 2B. “Break” or “Ritual” are area-related. When a Breach or Ritual appears in a narrow corridor, where some card types have multiple of them, they can be significantly less rewarding than they otherwise would be.
Why Path of Exile 2 should rethink its one-portal policy
Not least, Path of Exile 2The approach to death might require some changes. It's no secret that GGG wanted the game to be slower and more methodical in its combat, especially since boss fights are a predominant part of the ARPG. However, the game can be very punishing in the endgame section, where dying in a Waystone means loss of experience and access to the Waystone itself, including any loot not collected before the event.
GGG's reasoning seems to be that this way players can learn from the experience and improve their characters and builds accordingly. However, this is hardly the case for many reasons, such as because it can be very difficult to change pieces of equipment on the fly, or because the game doesn't really have a death recap screen that clearly states what happened. Beyond that, however Path of Exile 2 can be paused, which should also happen automatically if the connection is lost. However, it happens that players get separated and still die from it. It follows that, among the other changes, it would also bring about a reduction in the punishment of death Path of Exile 2 the best version of himself.
