Fantastic Neo Dimension is now available for PC and consoles. With this release, one of the best Apple Arcade exclusive games has finally expanded its reach to other platforms.
Fantastic is a role-playing game developed by Mistwalker, a Hawaiian studio founded by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the game's renowned creator Final Fantasy Series. It was originally released as an Apple Arcade exclusive in two parts, debuting in April and August 2021.

Fantasian: Neo Dimension, Mistwalker's upcoming JRPG, includes a handful of new features not present in the original Fantasian.
More than three years later, the critically acclaimed JRPG is finally available on non-Apple platforms, releasing on December 5th for PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X/S and PC. This new version of the game is called Fantastic Neo Dimension and comes with a few additional bells and whistles, including extensive English and Japanese voice acting and 4K images (with the exception of the Switch port). A new, “normal” difficulty level is also part of the package and promises to make the JRPG significantly more accessible than the Apple Arcade original, which earned a reputation as a fairly demanding game that requires the player to constantly be paying attention or else they'll have to die.

Three and a half years since its initial release, Fantastic is still widely considered one of the best Apple Arcade games ever released. Its high level of recognition is reflected in its “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, based on an average score of 82 and a reviewer recommendation rate of 86%. Its PC and console debut should therefore be of great interest to JRPG fans who were unable to experience it during the long period of Apple Arcade exclusivity. While the original Mistwalker game was published, Square Enix is handling distribution Neo Dimension.
A typical playthrough of Fantastic Neo Dimension will likely take over 60 hours, although completionists could easily spend over 80 hours in the game. The new ports of the JRPG cost $49.99, making it a good value for money.
Aside from stylish diorama visuals and an extremely varied boss gallery, Fantastic Neo Dimension is also notable for being the last major game project from Nobuo Uematsu, the legendary composer best known for his contributions to gaming Final Fantasy Franchise. Although the 65-year-old keyboardist and symphonist is not retiring, he recently expressed a desire to focus more on creating music outside of video game soundtracks, which are typically time-intensive to compose.
