There seems to be a push to bring that horizon Franchises into other industries, media and genres, such as B. proves LEGO Horizon Adventures And Horizon: Call of the Mountain. It's not exactly clear how far Sony and Guerrilla Games want to go with this kind of diversification, nor whether similar plans are in the works for other IPs, but if so, then there could be an obvious candidate.
God of war has morphed into something very different than it did in its early days on the PlayStation 2. While the franchise has always emphasized emotional, epic and sophisticated storytelling, in 2018 the nature of that storytelling approach has been severely undermined God of warin which Kratos was paired with an entirely new cast of characters. The 2018 release is widely viewed as a soft reboot of sorts, although the narrative is still informed by the events of the older games. As part of this soft reboot God of war now has a very different kind of identity, defined by its supporting characters and mix of Norse and Greek mythological elements. All these different parts could make it an effective choice horizon-like spin-offs in the future, using different genres and premises to flesh out other aspects of the series' world.

How the world of God of War could expand beyond the mainline games
For better or worse, the value of modern, big-budget intellectual property is often measured by iconography, which in many cases is limited to recognizable characters. One only needs to look at the massive success of crossover media like the MCU to see how long-standing characters can be a franchise's greatest currency. Contemporary media is characterized by recognition. Therefore, a strong, memorable cast of characters that can anchor themselves in the zeitgeist is naturally compelling for IP owners and a key motivator for spin-offs of all kinds.
God of war certainly has an iconic cast of characters. Newcomers like Freya, Thor, and Tyr could potentially lead their own standalone games, which could be prequels or another side story (e.g. Thor fighting his way through Valhalla). LEGO Horizon Adventure sWhile it wasn't the runaway success that Gobo Studios was probably hoping for, it's nothing more than that novel within the larger franchise that takes on an entirely new genre. Perhaps something similar could be achieved within the God of war Universe, with characters like Brok and Sindri leading their own crafting or management title.

Just because God of War can spawn an infinite number of spin-offs doesn't mean it should
Spin-offs and multimedia projects require a difficult balancing act that not every IP or developer can manage. One of the problems with that LEGO Horizon Adventures The spin-off arguably undermines and devalues the narrative of the main games by commodifying its characters, conflicts and milestones, ultimately trivializing them. In other words: it does horizon more of a product than a work of art.
If God of war Were there to be a similar spin-off whose tone was much more light-hearted and kid-friendly, it would risk diluting the series' more mature and impactful narrative. Aside from tricky continuity issues, for example, a cozy building game with Brok and Sindri or a LEGO adaptation with the cast of the entire series would be completely different from the tone and character of the rest of the franchise. If God of war If there are ever unique spin-offs, this broader aspect of integrity should be kept in mind so as not to turn the game from a moving work of art into little more than a “media brand.”
