Marvel RivalsDeveloper NetEase Games has unveiled a brand new Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda map for the upcoming shooter, offering a stunning backdrop for fast-paced gameplay. The Kingdom of Wakanda is a fictional country from Marvel Comics lore created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and the location in sub-Saharan Africa is the home of Black Panther. Wakanda first appeared in 1966 in Fantastic Four #52 and is primarily a hub for the powerful metal vibranium Marvel Rivals would like to take advantage of the beauty and resources of the location.

The third-person hero shooter will be released on December 6th and will be a free-to-play experience for Marvel fans with 6v6 PvP gameplay. The story at the heart of the spectacle revolves around Doctor Doom's encounter with his 2099 counterpart, which results in multiple universes colliding in the timestream entanglement. Ahead of the game's debut, Net Ease recently gave a preview Marvel Rivals' Post-launch content plans for the coming year, including season length, details on the Battle Pass system, and a confirmed Season 1 debut for January 2025.

The Marvel fan base was unanimously impressed with the release of the new map, noting that they appreciated the Wakandan alphabet used in the trailer and the developer's level design. Marvel RivalsFuture maps could introduce more iconic locations, including Ego the Living Planet and Additionally, fans thought the ending of the Wakanda map trailer would herald the arrival of a new character in Flames. Some mentioned Ghost Rider and the Human Torch, but some viewers suspected that the flame elements were fire traps.

Marvel Rivals has a long list of confirmed day one features, such as an evolving story, 33 starting heroes, and nine maps that will become available in the game's first active month. Four maps are already available while the shooter is in closed playtesting, allowing players to explore Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya, Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands, Yggsgard: Royal Palace and Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path.
