Marvel Rivals player adds Spider-Man's symbiote suit

Summary

  • Marvel Rivals has a ton of skins and cosmetics, but that doesn't mean it's missing some obvious ones.

  • Perhaps the biggest example of this is the lack of a Symbiote Spider-Man skin.

  • This was fixed by Nexus Mods creator Stardom1, who added the skin himself.

A Marvel Rivals player has created a mod for perhaps the most obvious cosmetic skin in the entire game – a symbiote suit for the Rivals version of Spider-Man.

Although the official designs for some of the heroes and villains in Marvel Rivals have drawn quite a bit of criticism (looking at you, Wolverine), that hasn't been as much of an issue since the game's release. Over the past few weeks, a ton of cosmetic items and skins have been added for pretty much every character, giving players plenty of options to choose from.

As great as the current list of optional cosmetics is, there are a few glaring omissions. While I'm sure most of the ones that immediately come to mind (I'm begging for a Fox to stay one step ahead of the curve.

Without a doubt, the most obvious missing skin from Marvel Rivals at the moment is a symbiote suit for Spider-Man, which, beyond his classic look, has become synonymous with the character in recent years. This is especially noticeable considering Venom is in the game and could even use a team-up move with Spider-Man, coating him a bit with symbiote substance.

While we all wait for NetEase Games to either create their own version of the Symbiote suit or use one of the many designs from the films or library of Spider-Man games, Nexus Mods creator Stardom1 has gone all in on Thanos and decided to do it yourself. This has resulted in one of the most popular mods on the site in recent days and shows how much fans want the skin in Rivals.

As the name suggests and as you would expect from the concept, the Symbiote Spider-Man mod simply gives Spidey a black and white version of his standard suit in Rivals. This is especially interesting considering that the Symbiote skins we'll likely get for the game will be from movies or comics, giving this game a bit of a special touch.

Unfortunately, there is currently only one image for the mod on the Nexus Mods page, but it makes it clear how the mod works. YouTuber Tree also showed off a quick look in action in a video showing players how to install the mod, in case you want to take a closer look. For now, however, it's the closest thing to a Symbiote Spider-Man skin in Rivals.
