Boruto Uzumaki is one of the strongest characters in the Naruto universe and one that continues to delight fans as the story progresses. Boruto is a force to be reckoned with and there is absolutely no denying that. Boruto was born a genius and was always destined for fame. Even though Boruto has suffered so much, he has turned his pain into his strength and is only getting stronger.

Boruto Uzumaki is easily one of the strongest characters in the world Boruto world at this point. Although Boruto doesn't have full control over Karma, he has actually reached a level where he doesn't even need Karma to defeat the top tiers. The secret of Boruto's strength was only recently revealed in the story. First of all, Boruto trained with Sasuke for about a year. During this time, Sasuke taught him all the skills he possessed and helped him reach a very high level. Of course, that didn't mean Boruto was at Sasuke's strength level. Boruto was still quite inferior to him, but the fact was that he had the foundation to advance in whatever area Sasuke trained him in. Unfortunately for Boruto, Sasuke was turned into a tree by the Claw Grimes, which eventually forced him to stay there for quite some time. Eventually, Boruto Uzumaki met Kashin Koji. With his new Prescience Shinjutsu, Koji showed him multiple timelines and thus the future.

From these different timelines, Koji collected all the jutsu Boruto could learn and taught them to him in the present. This allowed Boruto to gain a tremendous amount of power in a short period of time and learn all the jutsu he could possibly know in alternate realities. This made Boruto Uzumaki quite strong and taught him jutsu like Uzuhiko while also teaching him practical skills like the Flying Thunder God technique. This has strengthened Boruto tremendously and fans know that Kashin Koji himself must have helped him grow physically as well. Obviously, Boruto is very powerful at the moment, and fans got their first glimpse of this at the beginning of Two Blue Vortex.

Boruto fought Code, who was without his limiters at the time and was still able to defeat him fairly easily. At this point, Code was possibly even stronger than Jigen, but still nowhere near Boruto's level. Later, Boruto even fought against Shinju, and in that fight, fans realized that they were not as strong as him, with the exception of Jura. When Boruto fought Hidari, he unleashed all of his power and delivered such a blow that he was practically destroyed. Of course, he was supported by Kawaki in this fight, but it was clear to fans that Boruto was far superior. At least it can be said that Boruto's power currently exceeds Jigen's and is greater than most Shinju, with the exception of Jura.

Although Naruto Uzumaki probably doesn't compare to Boruto in his base forms, fans know that he reached a very high level when he used the Six Paths Sage Mode in the story. Naruto was able to defend himself against Momoshiki, and he did so with half his strength. Although Momoshiki is not intended to be as strong as Isshiki as many fans assume, he is often equated with Isshiki by the author on many occasions, despite the latter looking much stronger. While Isshiki may be stronger than Momoshiki, fans also know that Naruto at least fought to defeat Jigen, who Boruto may now have stronger than him.

However, many fans forget that Jigen borrowed energy from the Ten Tails to fight Naruto and Sasuke. This chakra, drawn from the Ten Tails in abundance, helped him become much stronger than he actually was and fight against these two immensely powerful individuals. Without the Ten Tails' power, Jigen would most likely have lost. Even though Jigen's ship had the power of the Ten-Tails, it ended up breaking, meaning it had reached its limits. Apparently Jigen was stronger with a big amp from Ten Tails, but definitely not without the amp, which is something fans don't think about.

Regardless, fans know that Six Paths Sage Mode is no longer available on Naruto Uzumaki. To defeat Isshiki, Naruto used a new power that resulted in him completely overpowering Isshiki in battle and it was clear to fans that there was a huge difference in the power levels of these two people. This was made possible by Naruto harnessing the power of Baryon Mode, which allowed him to create an entirely new form of energy and use it in battle. Naruto could also shave Isshiki's own chakra and lifespan with every strike or every time they came into contact with each other. This power-up didn't last long, but Naruto reached his peak. At his peak, Naruto is far superior to Boruto.

Can Boruto surpass Naruto Uzumaki?

Boruto Uzumaki is clearly very powerful and on his way to surpassing him Naruto. The next generation usually always surpasses the previous one in the franchise, and here Boruto should have the tools to reach a level that Naruto couldn't reach. After all, he is incredibly talented, has a strong connection to the Otsutsuki, and has also received a lot of help from Sasuke and Kashin Koji. Boruto even has Momoshiki, which if he manages to maintain control will give him a huge boost, and then there's the case of the Jougan, which as things stand remains a major mystery. At the peak of his powers, Boruto could potentially rival Naruto's Baryon Mode.

Of course, one can make a case for Boruto suppressing this level, but as things stand, he's nowhere near Naruto's Baryon Mode level and won't be able to defeat him in combat if the two ever meet. Fans don't know what the future holds for Boruto. But the same goes for Naruto Uzumaki because at some point he has to be freed and fans don't know what strength he wants to achieve when he returns.
