How to defeat the Lifer

How to find the lifer

The Lifer is located in the central structure of the labyrinth in Oakheart Highcourt, directly beneath the roots of the Giant Tree. However, not all entrances to the Lifer location are initially accessible. A default open entrance is located on the southwest side, in the same direction as the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Players can climb the walls from the direction of the beacon or use the flight feature to fly over the maze.

The Lifer board game

Inside, players will find the Lifer next to a large board game with six pieces. The aim of the game is to connect three tiles in a row before the lifer manages to do so. The players control the black pieces while the lifer controls the white ones. More importantly, the board game can manipulate the walls of the Oakheart Highcourt maze, depending on the placement of the player's black pieces. Whenever a black figure is placed on the outer circle of the board, all walls and gates open in that direction. Players can leave the current board game session at any time and the positions of the pieces are retained.

Although the board game is not required to fight the Lifer – players can choose to attack it directly – it is essential for removing the Lifer's buffs. It is not recommended to win the board game before the buffs are removed, as the lifer will begin combat immediately.

How to remove the lifer buffs

The Lifer has seven buffs, making him extremely difficult to defeat without a highly invested team. Four of these buffs can be removed with an item called Proportion of imbalancewhile the remaining three are permanent. Players can see these buffs through the bright yellow module located directly behind the lifer's position.

Removable buffs (fragility):

  • Growing Loneliness: The Lifer restores 10% of its maximum HP every second after not being attacked for more than 2 seconds.

  • Wish to Escape: Increases the Lifer's ATK by 25%. Additionally, the damage dealt by the Lifer is increased by an additional 25% every 20 seconds.

  • Impending Standoff: Increases Lifer's ATK by 20% each time he deals damage, stacking up to 4 times. If the lifer does not deal damage within 6 seconds, all stacks are cleared.

  • Decay of Time: The Lifer gains 200% Glacio, Fusion, Electric, Aero, Spectro, and Havoc resistance. His maximum HP is increased by 25%.

Permanent Buffs (Stability):

  • Chains of Imprisonment: The lifer gains interruption immunity when his HP is above 50%.

  • Endless Game: The duration of the immobilized state of life is reduced by 50%.

  • Divine Garden: After suffering more than 25% of maximum HP in a single hit, the Lifer repels and damages nearby enemies.

To find them Proportion of imbalance To collect items, players must use the sensor utility tool near the lifer to reveal four purple lines indicating their locations. These lines lead to four rooms on the outer ring of the labyrinth. To gain access to each room, players must manipulate the game board by positioning the black tiles towards the rooms and opening the corresponding walls and gates.

The pieces maintain their position after they leave the game board, allowing players to move toward each room individually.

Once a gate opens, follow the path to the room at the end where there is a winged statue. Two of the rooms require players to defeat Tacet Discords, one requires players to break Friable Rocks, and the final Stake of Imbalance can be found on a table. Each Stake of Imbalance is marked by a white glow, making them easy to spot and collect.

After obtaining a Stake of Imbalance, place it in the module in front of the corresponding statue to remove the associated buff from the lifer. When a buff is removed, the purple line changes to yellow when viewed through the sensor.

Defeat the Lifer

wuwa_lifer_fight

With all four buffs removed, players can return to face the Lifer on a much more manageable difficulty level. You can either win the board game or choose “Fight it out!” at the chair to start the fight. Without its four removable buffs, the Lifer is only slightly stronger than a normal Chop Chop found in the wild. Without its buffs, none of the Lifer's abilities – punching, grappling, or spinning – pose a significant threat or deal significant damage.

When you defeat the Lifer for the first time, you will receive a Premium Supply Chest as a reward. A second victory yields another Premium Supply Chest as well as three Basic Supply Chests. A third and final victory grants an Advanced Supply Chest and three standard Supply Chests.

Players also have the option to reactivate the buffs by interacting with the same four modules, making for a more challenging battle. However, there are no achievements for defeating the Lifer with all buffs activated.

The life achievements

In addition to the chests, players can also earn four achievements related to the Lifer and his board game.

  • Saving the Lifer: Defeat the Lifer in Oakheart Highcourt.

  • The Lifer's Ring: Claim all the treasures the Lifer guards

  • Limit of Intelligence: Win against the Lifers in the Oakheart Highcourt game.

  • Alpha Go: Lose to the Lifer 10 times in the game at Oakheart Highcourt.

Players who have difficulty defeating the Lifer in the board game should focus on fending off his attempts to form a line. At some point, the lifer becomes impatient and makes an obvious mistake that the player capitalizes on.
