Even after players make it past unexpected traps and endless swarms of zombies, they're often stuck in a situation where they can't move a particular platform to get to the rooftops. How to move the stationary platform in Ravenholm?

In the middle of the chapter you will reach a dead end where zombies will attack you from all directions. The only way to escape these undead creatures is Reach the higher ground and traverse the raised ledges. However, you soon reach the end of a ledge where you have to move a platform to cross a large gap and reach the rooftops. Here are the steps to find and access the lever to move the said platform:

  • When you reach the dead end, look for a control station on the right and Walk around it to reach the stairs that will give you access to the higher level of the station.
  • The control station also includes a viewing balcony from which you can observe the street below. The lever that controls the platform is located on this viewing balcony.
  • Once you're on the viewing balcony, Look for the lever on the far left and at foot level. The reason you are most likely to overlook this lever is its color choice, which makes it appear like one of the balcony fence support poles.
  • When you interact with this lever, the platform will move along the suspension wire, allowing you to cross the gap and get through the town of Ravenholm.

The feeling of seemingly being stuck on a street where countless zombies appear also increases the anxiety of having to find the lever as quickly as possible, which can cause you to lose focus and miss your surroundings. However, once the lever is activated, you can breathe a sigh of relief as the path ahead is linear and there are no more puzzles to solve for the rest of the chapter.

“We're Not Going to Ravenholm” is one of the scariest chapters in Half-life 2with a ghost town overrun by nature and inhabited by terrible creatures.
