How to get the Balmung Sword – Black Ops 6

One of the most popular swords in Citadelle des Morts is Balmung, also known as the Raven Sword. This is powerful Black Ops 6 Wonder Weapon definitely has its advantages, but how can players get their hands on the very sharp and pointy melee weapon that makes hacking and slashing the undead hordes so much fun?

The Balmung sword is arguably the most complex of the four swords in Black Ops 6's Citadelle des Morts, but this guide will make it very easy for players to capture the sword in their own rounds on the map thanks to a simple translation of the Raven Sword code and all solutions.

Step 1: Obtain the Raven Bastard Sword

Players can get their hands on the Raven Bastard Sword by purchasing a stamp, going to the dining hall with Vulture Aid, and then interacting with the knight statue on the far left. This knight statue can be identified by the stone raven on his shoulder and the dragon graffiti behind it. Once players interact with this statue, they will receive the Raven Bastard Sword, which they can use as a melee weapon.

Step 2: Find the Ancient in the Alchemy Laboratory

After obtaining the Raven Bastard Sword, head to the Alchemy Laboratory, where players must begin searching for their specific antique. If players do not have access to the Alchemy Lab, they will simply need to turn on Pack-a-Punch, as the Alchemy Lab is a secret room between the Living Rooms (Stamin-Up) and the Dining Hall (Vulture Aid).

In the Alchemical Laboratory, players search for a specific item lurking on one of the shelves or desks. The spawn is random, as is the item, so players should search the Alchemy Lab in search of one of these items:

• horn
• Jawbone
• Fish fossil (rock)
• Scorpion fossil (stone)
• Bird skull

Once players find one of these items, they must pick it up to move on to the next step.

Step 3: Solve the Raven Sword Code puzzle

Players must bring the antiquity they have to the tavern cellar. The Tavern can be found in the town square (spawn area), or by simply paying 500 Essences to fast travel here from the Pack-a-Punch room. Once inside, the south wall between a crafting bench and a zombie spawn hole will have a metal dial. Players will want to interact with this wheel to place the antique, then interact with it again to place the Raven Bastard Sword.

Players can now interact with the Raven Sword puzzle wheel, with the ability to spin the inner ring with L1 and the outer ring with R1. The goal here is to match the bone fragment players have with the corresponding astrology symbol and element using the bottom symbols (those closest to the sword). There are only five answers. Once players have aligned the symbols with their antiquity, press Circle/B to submit the answer. If done correctly, music will begin to play and void orbs will sprout from the ground. If done incorrectly, players must try again in the next round.

Step 4: Insert the balls into the silhouettes

Now that players have solved the Raven Sword puzzle, purple balls will slowly begin to follow the player. These bullets can do some damage. So avoid them. However, remember that the goal is to lead them into a Void Rift that appears in the tavern. Three orbs must reach the same Void Rift and this must be repeated a total of three times.

The first Void Rift is located in the Tavern Cellar, where players will need to get the Shadow Orbs to follow them so that they are sucked into the hole, directly opposite the crafting bench.

The second cavity crack is on the first floor of the tavern, right next to the main entrance. Guide those purple balls into the hole by making a slow move like you would with a zombie horde.

The second cavity crack is on the second floor of the tavern, right next to the dart table and pool table. Run around the pool table or take the stairs to manipulate the shadow balls to follow you.

Step 5: Interact with the raven puzzle to receive Balmung

The final step ends with the Shadow Rifts and Shadow Orbs step, and after completing the third Shadow Rift in the Tavern, players only need to head back to the Tavern Basement where they can interact with the Raven Puzzle Cylinder. This causes the sword to be sucked into the void, only to reappear seconds later full of dark magic. Players can now collect the Balmung Raven Sword.

If players wish to return to Balmung, all they need to do is go to the dining hall and interact with the Raven Knight statue again, where the knight will hold out the sword and wait for someone else to claim it again.

Is the Balmung Raven Sword any good?

Balmung is a great upgraded sword to have in Citadelle des Morts due to its situational activity. Balmung uses the same effects as a Shadow Rift Ammo Mod, so each strike has a random chance of teleporting zombies into the sky, causing them to fall to their deaths. But perhaps the Balmung's most intriguing ability is its special attack, which allows players to tear a rift into a dark dimension, sucking in and killing zombies, similar to a mini LT53 Kazimir tactical gear.
