The zombie parts system in Dead Island 2 is an incredibly morbid mechanic with some really interesting concepts. Basically, at a certain point in the game, players will unlock the ability to use different mutations in different zombies to create specific weapon autophagy perks and abilities. To do this, you'll need to collect all sorts of anatomical nightmares, from oversized arm bones to electrified brains, mutated hearts, and even infected flesh.

Upcoming zombie games that people are excited about
Zombies have been a staple of horror for decades and aren't leaving the world of video games anytime soon.
All of these pieces have different chances of being dropped by different zombie types. For example, Electrified Brains can only be dropped by Voltaic Screamers, but can be dropped by most Zombies Dead Island 2 can drop infected meat. So let's take a look at exactly what this part is, what it's used for, and where to get it.
Updated on November 2, 2024 by Jacob Buchalter: Despite Dead Island 2's numerous DLC expansions, including the House DLC and the SoLA DLC, not much has changed in terms of how to collect infected meat or what it's used for. Of course, with these DLCs there are now even more areas to get it in, but the process is still the same and the recipes it's used in are essentially the same too. That said, let's take a quick look at all the information provided here and make sure you know everything you need to know about Infected Flesh in Dead Island 2.
Explanation of the “material” of the infected meat
Where to find it in the game
Dead Island 2 features 5 different rarity types for its items and equipment; Together, Unusual, Rarely, Superior, And Legendary. While only weapons can go up Legendaryeverything else has an assigned rarity and zombie parts are no different.
It's true that Infected Flesh can be dropped by these 14 different zombie types:
- walker
- Spiny walkers
- Shocking hikers
- Swarmwalker
- Grenadier hikers
- Arsonist
- Firefighter hikers
- Caustic X Walker
- Dangerous goods hikers
- Burning hikers
- Riot Gear Walkers
- Drinking hikers
- Walker
- Bursters
There's no real “method” to farm infected meat other than killing a few of these zombie guys. Infected meat is a common resourcewhich makes sense considering how many sources you have to get it from, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's “easy” to get. Unlike oversized arm bones, you can't break a hiker's arms to make them drop their flesh more easily.
So, for anyone looking here to find out if there is a “quicker” way to complete Francesca's first step Body art Unfortunately there is no Side Quest in Beverly Hills. Instead, it's easier to just accept this quest and leave it alone, or pin the Autophage perk recipe that uses Infected Flesh, and then just continue playing the game without worrying about it. Because as long as you keep an eye out for zombie part drops in general (and don't avoid combat altogether), you'll steadily amass a sizable supply of infected flesh over time.

General purpose and use of this material
Infected meat actually only has one “purpose”it is one of the basic crafting materials used for many of the various Autophage perks for both melee and ranged weapons. Other than that, Infected Flesh isn't worth much. It doesn't cost much, it can't be “used” anywhere else, and you only need about 10 stacks of meat for a given step of a side quest.
In spite of all, You should still accumulate a large pile of infected flesh if you cansimply because you'll probably be playing around with autophage weapon mods so often. To give a clearer picture of how many blueprints use this resource:

To create any of the blueprints listed above, you'll need almost a full stack of 99 Flesh Bits (78 to be more precise). And let's be honest: you won't use each blueprint on a weapon just once, so multiply that number again by 2, 3, or even 4 times. This is all proof that infected flesh is a fairly common material, so you'll want a lot of it.
