How to get goat milk

Goat milk is becoming an essential ingredient for all chefs and brewers Luma Islandbut it's not particularly easy to get to. You will only need this ingredient later in the game when you reach the mountain and unlock higher level recipes to become a master in your profession.

You can get goat milk once you start keeping goats on your farm, but it's unclear what you need to do first to get them onto your farm. Here's everything you need to know about caring for these animals, getting their milk and the costs.

How to get a goat

Before you can get a goat and then goat milk, you must purchase the blueprint for a goat stable from the drawing shop next to Balthazar's shop. It costs 10,000 gold coins, so it may take some time before you can afford it Luma Island. Once you have the schematic, you need to build the shed on your farm. You will need the following materials:

• 20 mountain boards
• 25 fern leaves
• Five copper bars
• 10 Moonstone Ingots

Mountain Boards and Moonstone cannot be found until you reach the mountain. So you have to unlock it before you can finish building the goat shed. Mountain Boards can be crafted at the Sawmill using Mountain Wood, but to get enough Moonstone Ore for the Ingots, you must enter the Mountain Cave. To find it, simply turn left and follow the path when you first enter the mountain.

Once you've built the shed, you'll need to buy goats from the farm shop in town. They cost 5000 gold coins each and you can house two goats in the stable at the same time. Remember to build a fence around their shed to keep them from running away.

How to get goat milk

You can get goat milk by feeding the goats with hay in your stable once a day. You can get hay by chopping grass with your axe, and you can use the R button to throw it on the ground for your goats to eat.

To make your life easier, you can also invest in a feeding trough and fill it with hay so that your goats always have something to eat, even when you are not there. This also saves you the trouble of throwing hay to them once a day. You can get the blueprint for a trough from the drawing store. It costs 10,000 gold coins. However, in contrast to the goat shed, the material costs for its construction are much lower:

• Five farm wood
• A copper ingot
• 50 hay

Goats are also suitable for driving away foxes Luma Island. Foxes show up when you have chickens on your farm, and they force the chickens to hide in their coop – meaning they don't drop eggs or kill the bugs that are pestering your plants. You can usually get rid of foxes by hunting them yourself. They avoid them during the day but reappear every morning. So having a goat nearby to take care of them will save you a lot of time and ensure the safety of your chickens.
