This gemstone was discovered in the mine by a miner named Sammy Clod. So you have to search for him to get one of these crystals. Sammy Clod can be found in the Northwest Mining Cavern, which is located on the northwest side of the Mantuban Mine. When you spot it, ask for a shiny amethyst. Instead of giving you one, Sammy tells you to grab it yourself. Additionally, he points out that a cave moth can lead you to the gem's location.
