How to find and use the Realmgate in Path of Exile 2

Quick links

The Realmgate is one of the core features of the endgame Path of Exile 2. However, unlike normal map nodes, the Realmgate does not require waystones to traverse, but rather something else.

In this guide, you'll learn where to find the Realmgate, how to use it properly, and what awaits you on the other side. In order not to miss the opportunity, it is important to know what to expect and prepare accordingly.

How to find the Realmgate in PoE 2

The Realmgate is right next to where you start the mapping phase. The quickest way to get back here is to click floating home icon on the map screen (see image above). This will refocus the screen on the location where the mapping phase began. The Imperial Gate is right next to the stone ziggurat.

Sometimes the home symbol overlaps with the red skull symbol indicating the location of the Burning Monolith. Both locations are usually close by. Click on one to find the other.

Path of Exile 2 Breaches Guide Xesht Boss Realmgate

Unlike normal map nodes, waystones do not work on the Realmgate. Instead, the purpose of the Realmgate is to lead players to endgame Pinnacle boss fights. There are currently four Pinnacle boss fights in the game that require the Realmgate. Here's how to access it via Realmgate.

  • Xesht, we are one (Breach Pinnacle Boss): Combine 300
    Broken fragments

s to create a quarry stone. Use the Breachstone on the Realmgate to access the Xesht boss fight.

  • Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): Use a level 79 or higher log (Expedition drop) by speaking to Dannig in Hideout. Dannig, like the other three expedition NPCs (Rog, Gwennen and Tujen), can be encountered randomly on expedition maps. After that, he will permanently settle in your hiding place.
  • The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Combine 300
    Simulacrum shards

s to create the simulacrum that can be used on the Realmgate. Instead of a single boss fight, a map is created with 15 waves of Delirium enemies. Mapping setups are best suited for this.

  • King in the Mist (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Obtain the Audience with the King item from the Ritual Favor system by spending tribute. Use it at the Realmgate to access this battle.

The Trial Master and Zarokh, the Temporal are endgame bosses at the end of the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas (4th Ascendancy Version), respectively. These two are not part of the Realmgate system.

The Arbiter or Ash, the true endgame summit boss who is the strongest of all, can only be found in the Burning Monolith, not through the Realm Gate. To take part in this battle, you will need three Citadel Keys via the quest, which you will unlock once you encounter the Burning Monolith for the first time.
