Where to find Holmill Echo
Holmill location in Echoes of Wisdom
After clearing the silent Suthorn Forest, you have the choice of going to the Gerudo Desert or the Jabul Waters. The choice itself does not matter as you will have to repair the cracks in both areas. However, there are a few echoes in the Gerudo Desert that make platforming easier, such as the Flying Tile and the Platboom. As you work your way through the Gerudo Desert/“A Rift in the Gerudo Desert,” you will eventually find this Cave of the Rest of the Ancestor.
The Ancestor's Rest Cave is located north of the city of Gerudoespecially north of the red lanmola Spawn point. There is one Waypoint statue in front of the Ancestral Cave of Tranquility. If you haven't defeated the Lanmola, you'll know you're near the Ancestral Cave of Tranquility when a sandstorm covers your map.
After rescuing Dohna and speaking to her in the oasis, the Cave of Ancestor's Tranquility will be open
marked on your map
to make it easier to find if you haven't already.
In the ancestor's resting cave, you will see a large gap that separates you from the ancestor's grave. Go left and use Tri's binding ability to remove the huge boulder. Enter the room that was hidden by the boulder and you will find it two Holmills.
Holmills are mole-like creatures that burrow in the sand/soil. If you get too close to them, they will hide again. So use the Bind ability to pull them out. Then summon an Echo to defeat it and learn the Holmill Echo.
How to use Holmill
Where should you dig?
Summon Holmill like any other echo. Once called, Holmill will attempt to bury himself in the dirt. Summoning Holmill over a spot it can't dig will make it vulnerable to enemy attacks.
Zelda can jump into the holes Holmill digs. Certain caves have sandy floors that lead to floating platforms that you wouldn't normally be able to reach. However, when used in Hyrule/3D mapjumping into a Holmill hole will do the trick Zelda respawn.
You want to use Holmill to excavate small squares of dirt. There is usually a power crystal hidden in these patches of dirt. In other cases, the patches may lead to a cave with a heart piece, such as the one east of Kakariko Village. You will need Holmill if you want to get each heart piece Echoes of wisdom.
