Gunnar's clear pro lens is an artist's dream come true
The standout Gunnar product unveiled at CES this year was undoubtedly the brand's Clear Pro glass, which is currently available in several different collections – Muir, Humboldt, Pacifica, Palomar, Pismo and Tahoe. Gunnar's Clear Pro lens was developed in response to demand from graphic designers and other creatives who needed the company's patented lens technology, but without the color shift that would inevitably lead to misinterpretation of the colors on their screens.
As the name suggests, Gunnar's Clear Pro lenses are completely clear, although they offer the same technology and features as the brand's other lens variants, including the signature amber tint. Gunnar's Clear Pro lenses are also available for those who require prescription glasses, ultimately increasing their appeal and extending their reach even further.
Gunnar is expanding its mineral glass range
In the spirit of clear lenses, Gunnar is expanding its range of mineral lenses with the new Purity collection, set to launch in May this year. Using the same material as high-end cameras and telescopes, Gunnar's mineral glass lenses eliminate refraction, rainbow effects and image distortion, resulting in unmatched visual clarity.
At CES, Gunnar introduced the Purity collection's debut product, Tioga, which houses the brand's popular mineral glass lenses in a lightweight, round frame made of acetate and reclaimed wood with German spring hinges for the earbuds. Once the Purity collection launches in May, the Tioga line will be available in Amber and Clear Pro mineral lenses with a retail price of around $250.
Gunnar's new Sun-Shift and Viscer models combine adaptability and comfort
Gunnar's more unique offerings on display included the brand's new Sun-Shift and Viscer models. The Sun Shift model is a collaboration with Activision and Call of dutyaptly named “Call of Duty Ghost Edition” and is currently available for purchase. These glasses feature a military-inspired aviator frame made from high-quality polymer and stainless steel for a sleek look and maximum durability. While the lenses have Gunnar's signature amber tint, they can transition to a sunglasses tint in about 15 seconds outdoors and return to the amber color after 15 minutes indoors.
Gunnar's Viscer model isn't quite there yet, as the company aims to launch it in March this year. This particular model of goggles is similar to ski/snowboard goggles in that it features a wide lens that prevents dry eyes by restricting airflow. Ultimately, Gunnar believes these games are more attractive to esports players, while still offering something unique that everyone can benefit from.

Gunnar's Krista and Pinnacle collections offer more comprehensive looks and sizes
In response to customer feedback that most of the brand's eyewear is aimed at men, Gunnar is also launching its new Krista collection this year, which should provide exactly what those looking for a more feminine look are looking for. The entire collection will launch four different lines over the next few months, each with its own look and construction and only $65.
-
Erika (February 2025): All-metal construction in cat-eye design
-
Eileen (April 2025): Slim and straight lines
-
Ingrid (April 2025): Rounded, body-hugging frames
-
Sophia (April 2025): Rose gold temple frame with rounded lenses
Customers have also provided feedback on the fit of most Gunnar glasses, noting that they generally feel a bit too tight on larger heads. So Gunnar is responding with Pinnacle – a king-size eyewear line designed to provide a better fit for larger heads – set to launch in June 2025.
Gunnar's Quantum and Luma collections combine style with substance
Gunnar also showcased a portion of its Quantum and Luma collections at CES 2025, both of which are among the company's more stylish offerings. The Dume sunglasses, part of the Quantum collection, are inspired by Tony Stark's glasses The Avengers and feature gold temples and side shields, with Gunnar's air shielding technology integrated into the mix. Dume is available in Gunnar's Signature Amber, Maximum Protection Amber Max and Sun.
Gunnar's Freemont and Campbell lines, part of the Luma collection, are also on the way this year. These glasses feature an all-metal frame with an acetate marbled side and a small opening at the edges. Ultimately, these offer the wearer all the advantages of Gunnar glasses while at the same time being rather inconspicuous.
Overall, Gunnar's CES 2025 showcase further demonstrates his commitment to innovation, style and inclusivity, setting a new standard for the eyewear industry. By addressing consumer needs with products such as the Clear Pro and Purity collections, while increasing its appeal through others such as the Krista collection, Gunnar continues to prove itself as an admirable competitor in the market. Whether it's improving visual clarity for creatives, redefining functionality for gamers, or offering designs for underserved populations, Gunnar proves that the company remains not only a pioneer, but also a leader in the field.
