Other ways to increase damage include improving Henry's archery skills, using better arrows, applying poison to the arrowheads, and getting some of the best perks around KCD. To use certain bows, players must meet minimum strength and agility requirements.

Updated January 16, 2025 by Joe Grantham: With KCD 2 just around the corner, many players are either returning to the medieval masterpiece or trying it out for the first time. As the only ranged weapon in the first game, bows are crucial for both hunting and combat. By showcasing more of KCD's best bows, especially those that can be purchased earlier in the game, players will have more options and can find the bow for themselves depending on how much dime they can afford. Players should also keep in mind that the arrows they use also make a difference. They can be purchased from hunters in Rattay or Talmberg.

At 72 power, that Elm longbow isn't far from competing with the best longbows in the base game, and is more than good enough for Henry. It will certainly feel like a big improvement after previously only using the bow he was first given. However, if this is the first new bow players desire, they will need to ensure that they have sufficiently increased their strength and agility, which can only be achieved through active physical activity. One of the best things beginners can do KCD is on his way to train with Captain Bernard in Rattay.

Acquiring the Elm Longbow is fairly easy as it can be purchased from the Hunter of Rattay, who can usually be found near the Upper Castle. Players can also receive training in their hunting and hound skills from Berthold, although at an additional cost. The bow can also be looted by a bandit during the Invaders quest near Skalitz.

This makes it the best bow for the mid to late game KCDand players probably won't want an upgrade until the very end of the game.

There are many ways to obtain an Ash Longbow. The most direct route is to go to Rattay and buy it from Berthold the Hunter, who sells all sorts of goods related to archery and hunting. Alternatively, the following maps all lead to hidden chests or tombs containing loot, including an Ash Longbow: Ancient Map II, Treasure Map IV, Treasure Map XVII, and Treasure Map XX. The second and much cheaper alternative to finding a Yew Longbow is to use Treasure Map I in the mill east of Sasau, which leads the player to a locked chest north of the monastery. Alternatively, players can try to win the Rattay Tournament fourteen times, or hope that a certain high-ranking bandit attacks them since he has the bow in his inventory.

The best bow ever Kingdom Come: Liberation is the Sinew Bow, but it is only available to those who own the From the Ashes DLC. With significantly more power than the next best option, this is a weapon that players should acquire as soon as possible. However, Henry needs 16 Strength and 11 Agility to use the bow effectively.

To obtain the Bowstring, players must complete the Pribyslavitz Reconstruction Project, which is part of the DLC, and they must choose a guardhouse opposite the stables. Once the guardhouse is completed, an archery range can be built for 1000 groschen. The players then have two options; Either steal the string bow from a chest in the guardhouse or purchase it from the archery master. Luckily, the small settlement of Pribyslavitz brings Henry income and helps with all of these expensive purchases.
