In this Black Ops 6 Zombies main quest, players must fight against the horrors and experiments of the undead that prevent their escape from Terminus Island!

Tactical gear is extremely useful in the right hands, and when used correctly, it can passively negate the effects of a Mangler, heal players from certain death, or even provide brief respite and save allies in desperate need of help from a fellow survivor.

Updated December 13, 2024 by Jake Fillery: It's important for players to know the best tactical gear for their Zombies loadout in Black Ops 6 so they can reach high rounds as quickly as possible and complete Easter Eggs efficiently. There are 7 different versions of tactical gear in Black Ops 6, and with the changing meta, it's important that players keep track and understand which is best for their gear and recovery.

7 smoke

Hide in the smoke but obscure zombies

Smoke grenade

  • Deploys a smoke screen that blocks visibility and automated targeting systems.
  • 500 Salvage
  • Unlocks at level 17

The Smoke Bomb is one of the more mediocre options players have in their zombie tactical gear arsenal. The zombies found inside Black Ops 6 aren't exactly reliant on their eyesight, so dropping a smoke will impair the player's vision more than the overwhelming and aggressive hordes of rotting corpses.

The smoke bomb can be useful to stop Mangler's cannon attack, which will chase players unless he goes through the smoke. However, the smoke is rather small and dissipates fairly quickly, and compared to other tactical weapons it's not worth it, especially if players can't see the zombies in the smoke and are therefore basically at a visual disadvantage.

6 Stim shot

Apply lost health quickly

Stim shot

  • Combat stimulator that heals wounds and refreshes tactical sprint. Recharges with a cooldown.
  • Unlocks at level 30
  • 250 Salvage

One of the most useful tactics in multiplayer returns for Zombies mode, where players can inject themselves with a Stim Shot for a refreshing health rate that surpasses Quick Revive's natural healing and perk potential.

Black Ops 6 invites players to Liberty Falls, the undead-overrun city in West Virginia, which also features a main quest for unique knowledge and rewards!

However, the stim shot can be easily interrupted. So if players are cornered and think that a stim shot will bring them back to full health while killing the horde that trapped them, they will be disappointed. The Stim Shot stops healing when damage is taken, and health regeneration is pretty average at best. However, the ability to use a stim shot while fleeing a horde can affect health regeneration to save the player's life before that fatal blow forces them to quit the game.

5 concussion

Temporarily stun zombies

Concussion grenade

  • Grenade that slows the victim's movement and aim.
  • 250 Salvage

If there are too many zombies chasing a player, throwing a concussion can be helpful as it will completely stop the zombies and leave them dazed and confused for a few seconds, almost as if they were ready to to take an attack long nap.

The Concussion Grenade is also pretty fun for its trolling potential, as players can throw one into another player's horde and watch as the platoon goes completely haywire because half of them are asleep on the job. It is a good tactic that is surpassed by others, as the effect of a concussion grenade does not last too long and has no effect on special and elite zombies. Additionally, she can jump around a lot. So throwing it at an attacking zombie can cause the concussion grenade to bounce back and stun the player.

4 Shock charge

Stun zombies with electricity

Shock charge

  • Electric trap that sticks to surfaces and electrocutes and stuns enemies.
  • Unlocks at level 42
  • 500 Salvage

The shock charge applies a trip mine to the ground, dealing electrical damage and stunning enemies to stop them. It's great for stopping advancing and aggressive zombies, but can't do much against Manglers, Abominations, Amalgams, and Doppelghasts, and the extent of its abilities is mostly limited to the hordes of undead.

Throwing a shock charge to temporarily stun a horde of zombies is never a bad idea, and the damage it does may not be the greatest, but it's definitely useful for high-round strategies, especially against a group of zombies that can be stunned while players play Shoot them relentlessly.

3 bait

Temporarily distract zombies

Deception grenade

  • Grenade that simulates footsteps and firing sounds to confuse enemies. Adheres to surfaces.
  • Unlocks at level 35
  • 500 Salvage

The Decoy is the much cheaper Monkey Bomb that actually works almost better than the original. The decoy can be thrown extremely quickly and far, allowing players to revive their allies or gain some breathing room and a chance to hit the Mystery Box without having to worry about an onrushing horde knocking them down.

The decoy can be thrown at enemies as it sticks to surfaces, and the horde will all charge towards the decoy until it is eventually used up. The time commitment is quite generous, and the instant use makes it effective for playing fetch with zombies. The only real problem with the decoy is that it can sometimes be deactivated too soon, or zombies simply aren't close enough to hear it. In addition, Special and Elite zombies do not care about the decoy, and the tactic itself does not deal damage when it runs out.

2 Cymbal monkey

The classic monkey bomb that distracts zombies

Cymbal monkey bomb

  • Attracts zombies for a short time before exploding.
  • Unlocks at level 18
  • 1,000 Salvage
  • Cannot be equipped in your loadout.

The original tactical gear is hard to beat, and who could ask for more of the cheerful and scary Monkey Bombs? These classics have been part of the series since the beginning and have not needed to be improved or enhanced to remain relevant.

The monkey bombs can deal a lot of explosive damage when their time runs out, but what's really special about them is how they distract any zombie. Each zombie will charge towards the monkey bomb and stand around while it plays its song, and once it finishes its song? Zombies are booming.

1 LT53 Casimir

The updated and always powerful Gersh device

LT53 Casimir

  • Creates a small singularity that attracts and kills enemies.
  • Unlocks at level 48
  • 1,500 Salvage
  • Cannot be equipped in your loadout.

If players have ever had the privilege of using the Gersh device in older versions Call of Duty Zombies Title like Black Ops and Black Ops 3then they will know how superior it is to the Monkey Bombs. The LT53 Kazimir is a blessing for the players Black Ops 6and it's definitely a doozy with its horde-blasting black hole potential.

The LT53 Kazimir is a more portable Gersh device, and once thrown, any nearby zombie will be slowly drawn into the singularity, where they will be sucked in and killed instantly. Even better, when players are in need, they can jump into the LT53 Kazimir to teleport as if they were using the Anywhere But Here GobbleGum. Salvage can take a lot of time to craft, but it's definitely worth it to have a portable monkey bomb that kills zombies and stuns special/elite enemies.
