Fall of Avalon
Update with eight playable characters with unique abilities. - Characters like Scarlet and the Snow Queen offer powerful damage and abilities to master.
As many roguelike games as there are, there are only a few that allow players to play cooperatively online. RavenswatchHowever, it offers online co-op, which arguably makes the game more entertaining, although players can also enjoy the game in single-player mode.
Ravenswatches The world and playable characters are heavily themed around folk heroes and ancient legends, giving the game a distinctive visual flair. With the recent release of 1.0 marking the end of Early Access, there's never been a better time to jump into this challenging action roguelike.
Updated October 1, 2024 by Harry Ted Sprinks: Ravenswatch, developed by Passtech Games (the team behind the unique action roguelike Curse Of The Dead Gods), recently left Early Access and is launching with a major update in version 1.0 that adds a new character to the game. This, along with the game's additional talents and balance changes, dramatically changed the balance of the game. With nine playable characters now available and each playthrough lasting over an hour, it's helpful to know what each character is capable of.
9 The Pied Piper
A character with long range and low damage
The Pied Piper is one of the weakest characters in Ravenswatchalthough he's arguably more useful in multiplayer where he has a team that can lure enemies away from him. The Pied Piper's damage is relatively low compared to other characters. However, he also has a long-range attack.
For this reason, the Pied Piper is one of the safest characters to play Ravenswatchsince he doesn't have to get close to enemies. While a good choice for beginners, the Pied Piper remains one of the weaker characters, although he does have some useful things in his toolbox.
8 Geppetto
A quirky character with a slow start
Geppetto is an interesting character with a unique playstyle as his damage depends on the various auto-attack dummies he can create using his trait. However, this limits Geppetto's damage somewhat early in the game.
This makes Geppetto a difficult character to get going, even though he enters the late game relatively well and can generally provide a lot of support to his teammates. Geppetto's Dummies are particularly useful because they can block projectiles and draw aggro, allowing Geppetto to easily revive team members in online co-op while his Dummies distract their enemies.
7 Beowulf
A robust character who can hold his own
Beowulf is a strong and resilient character who can hold his own in many encounters. His Wyrm-boosted abilities are great for taking out large groups, and his shield protects him from projectiles and enemy attacks. Additionally, Beowulf's spin attack allows him to both attack enemies and retreat from battle.
Unfortunately, Beowulf's close-range attacks and hard-to-maneuver spin attack put him in great danger. Regardless, one could argue that Beowulf has access to some of the more powerful talents in the game, making him a relatively strong character.
6 Melusine
A powerful character with a strange play style
Melusine It takes some getting used to since she can't attack and move at the same time. However, once players get used to switching between stances, Melusine can be extremely powerful. Luckily, Melusine is able to maneuver around the battlefield with relative ease, allowing her to weave between enemies and keep herself out of harm's way.
Melusine is arguably stronger when played in online co-op mode, as she can more easily attack enemies from a distance while keeping her team's attention. While Melusine doesn't have as many AOE abilities as the other characters, her ultimate water bomb is capable of dealing massive damage over a large area.
5 Sun Wukong
A high risk, high reward character
Wukong is one of the more recent additions to Ravenswatchand features a risk-reward play style that isn't for everyone. Wukong's trait allows him to adopt two unique stances: one that allows him to deal (and take) more damage and another that allows him to restore health.
Therefore, Wukong can be particularly difficult for beginners to get a handle on, as he must be in his Yang stance to deal damage. However, this also makes him vulnerable to one-shot attacks, or at least receiving large amounts of damage. However, in this vulnerable state, Wukong can cause enormous damage. To be successful as a Wukong, mastering the balance between both stances is important, but mastering his defensive abilities – a powerful parry – is even more important. However, once players master this hero, he can be immensely powerful.
4 Carmilla
A mobile hero with a risky toolkit
This latest addition to the Ravenswatch is a stylish and incredibly mobile hero with a risk-reward playstyle full of ups and downs. There's a lot to recognize about Carmilla, especially at first glance, but her diverse skills and talents allow for expressive gameplay. At the heart of Carmilla is her blood mechanic, a thematic system based on her nature as a vampire.
Carmilla uses blood to make the most of her abilities, some of which drain the valuable resource when used in a certain way. Blood can be obtained in a variety of ways, but if the player runs out of blood they can use up their life points instead. However, this is not ideal as HP is not easy to get through their toolkit. Each of Carmilla's abilities are diverse enough to give her great mobility, damage, and AOE, making her a flexible character that scales excellently with talents. However, Carmilla's abilities can take some getting used to, and her strength forces her to stand still, which is at odds with her otherwise mobile abilities.
3 Aladdin
A powerful support hero
Aladdin's Its modest damage output is made up for by its versatile ultimate and ability to buff teammates. This makes Aladdin vastly more powerful in multiplayer, as he can give players a head start with his wishes, which grant consumables to everyone in the party.
One downside to Aladdin is his bizarre special ability, where he throws his blades at enemies, leaving him unable to attack. However, this enchants his blades and allows him to deal more damage, but one could argue that Aladdin remains weak until he gains the proper talents. Despite these drawbacks, Aladdin's supportive abilities make him one of the most powerful heroes for larger teams.
2 scarlet
A powerful damage dealer with a lack of control
scarlet is one of the most powerful heroes in the game, her only downside is the lack of control players have over her form. During the day, Scarlet is a glass cannon with plenty of maneuverability and a defense that makes her intangible, but at night she transforms into a tank-like wolf with the ability to heal herself.

However, Scarlet's combo point system allows her to deal massive damage, although this requires some skill to execute. If played correctly, Scarlet can do more damage than many other characters Ravenswatchespecially with the right talents.
1 The Snow Queen
A powerful combination of AOE and single target damage
The Snow Queen is currently one of the strongest characters in the game, as she is great against both single targets and large groups of enemies. Many of her abilities allow her to chill enemies, while others allow her to deal additional damage to the enemies she chills.
With a strong close-range area of effect that allows the Snow Queen to keep enemies away from her, and great mobility gained through her defensive ability (which allows her to skate around the map), the Snow Queen is an agile character with an extremely high level of survivability and damage potential. Combined with her ultimate abilities (one that focuses on a single target and another that focuses on massive AOE), the Snow Queen is arguably the strongest character currently available Ravenswatch.
