There's never been a better time to start watching anime
Crunchyroll has hundreds of shows on offer at any given time, so there's likely something for everyone!
That said, if you were hoping to go through the entire Bleach story from the Substitute Arc to the Thousand-Year Blood War, then you're out of luck. Because according to previous rumors, it was confirmed that the game's story mode will only extend as far as the Arrancar Arc, the third canonical arc of the manga.
Information about what will be covered can be found in a new system overview trailer released on Thursday. For this reason, games like the Fullbringer Arc and the Lost Shinigami Arc are not covered.
The Thousand-Year Blood War will be a DLC
According to Gematsu, the main story mode won't be the only thing players can experience. In addition to the conclusion of the Arrancar arc, there will be a separate Secret Story mode that tells the story of the main characters, while side episodes focus on daily life. The alternate story mode was first spotted in December.
While it may be disappointing that more than half of the anime won't be covered, it's not like the Thousand Year Blood War won't have any representation at all. At the end of the trailer, it was revealed that the game's season pass will focus on the TYBW arc and will add four more characters. There's no word on whether there will also be story content or just additional playable characters.
This particular treat received a mixed response online. “Without a Fullbring Arc, why jump so far other than to benefit from the anime?” one user wrote in part. “I really hope they do a sequel because I find that kind of boring.” Elsewhere, the presence of TYBW merchandise confirmed that the pre-orders are “worth it.”
