Valkyrie Mind opens up new possibilities for Freya in combat. With her skills in the Valkyrie tree already making her aggressive and worthy of going toe-to-toe with Kratos, it's great to see a flurry of arrows that can help her stand out and stagger and stun her enemies.
5 Valkyrie Spirit
Freya becomes more aggressive in battle

The Valkyrie Spirit allows Freya more independence in battle. She can use her sword and Valkyrie wings to strike and even cut through enemies. It's an aggressive ability that further unlocks Freya's combat potential as a partner.
4 Goddess Focus

With the acquired Goddess Focus, Freya's abilities on the battlefield can rival those of Kratos. Goddess Focus allows Freya access to more specialized attacks and abilities when using a bow, so further research into ranged attacks means she is equally useful at both close and long range.
It's always good to have Freya's support, especially when there are overpowered enemies out to kill Kratos. When Goddess Focus is active, Freya's Valkyrie abilities will benefit Kratos, as they have aggressive tactics that cover any distance.
3 Goddess Aggression

Building on the Valkyrie Spirit ability, Goddess Aggression is the much-needed upgrade that will see Freya ascend to Valkyrie Queen. It's a great ability to invest in early on as it makes her much more aggressive, meaning Kratos will have to keep an eye on her even less as she'll be parrying enemies' attacks more often and charging at them ready to fight.
The fact that Freya can now stun enemies will benefit Kratos greatly, as she will not only do more damage, but will also fill the stun meter, allowing Kratos to brutally finish off the enemy. Further investment in Valkyrie's abilities is always a good thing for her attack improvements.
2 Arrow surplus

It's always important to use Atreus and Freya's AI partners in battle, as their arrow count can really help stun enemies and fill up the rune meter allowing for more damage. However, these archers only have a limited number of arrows before they need to be reloaded, so if Freya gets the Arrow Surplus ability, she can use an extra rune arrow in battle.
Having an extra rune arrow makes combat easier, as Freya can fire a volley at enemies without worrying about reaching into an empty quiver. More arrows mean more damage, and that always works in Kratos' favor, especially in puzzles that involve rune arrows.

Entangled Grip is an important ability for Freya to unlock as it really helps keep enemies away from Kratos. Using Freya's Vanir magic, she can pull weaker enemies into the grip of her vines, giving Kratos a brief moment of respite so he doesn't get overwhelmed by an army of weaker enemies. Alternatively, the ability can also be used to hold an enemy in place to perform an attack.
Entangled Grip is always beneficial in intense battles with a variety of enemies, so it's worth investing in right away, especially since it's the first in the Vanir Magic skill tree to unlock if players want to unlock even more abilities.
